Description

A group of young theatre folk, nostalgic dreamers determined to break with the prevailing logic of modernism, the rotten star system and collective disillusionment, undertake a venture that is equal parts madcap and exciting: bringing The Beautiful Helen, which the Teatre Lliure ‘sharpshooters’ premièred in 1979, back to the stage.

After gutting the millennial condition last season, the unbuckled humour of Miquel Mas Fiol’s neovarietés is back with a show on the power of collective effort and the rather unreliable support of nostalgia. It is an act of love of theatre, away from followers and flashes, and a recognition of the mutinous spirit that stubbornly drives us to continue to do theatre.
