Mirror neurons are a type of brain cell that are activated when an individual performs an action and when they see the same action performed by someone else. They are essential mechanisms in learning, imitation and empathy.

This stage artefact springs from the alliance between the German company Sasha Waltz & Guests and the director Stefan Kaegi, the leader of the Rimini Protokoll company. It trains its focus on the observer: what if each spectator were just one neuron, a tiny piece within a huge collective brain? Spiegelneuronen is an experiment, a game and a shared experience.

It’s an anniversary gift from the Lliure to our audience.
